Beloved, In recent weeks I have been constantly “prodded” by the Holy Spirit to encourage us on the issue of “reward”. Another word the Bible uses often is “recompense”. Simply put, reward is payment in return for service rendered.
Have you found yourself in a position where you have given endlessly to others and even to the work of God – for His name sake and yet, somehow God appears silent on your own needs?
Have you spent hours awake trying to do more for the gospel? Have you spent and been spent trying to ensure that your father’s work does not suffer? And yet…it appears that God has not noticed or if He has, He has not expressed His appreciation by granting you that special heart desire as reward?
Let not your heart be troubled. Hang in there, He has promised:
“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” Rev 22:12.
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward Heb 10:35.
In fact the Bible tells us that for you who do “works” – reward is a debt that will surely be paid to you (korokoro) by God and not by grace. Rom. 4:4.
Are you encouraged? Soooo while you wait, don’t go “grabbing” what you perceive as your own reward, believing it is your right – after all you “sowed” your time, money or energy.
Instead, continue to wait on the Lord for His reward is without repentance. Infact, decide which you prefer: “full reward” 2 John 1:8, “double reward” Rev. 18:6, “great reward” Luke 6:23 or reward is without repentance. In fact, decide which you prefer: “full reward” 2 John 1:8, “double reward” Rev. 18:6, “great reward” Luke 6:23 or He will…not fail you in Jesus name!
